TRANSDISCIPLINARY LEARNING
‘All Mixed Up’ At the heart of Stonehill PYP curriculum is transdisciplinary learning which is an exploration of a relevant concept, issue or problem that connects the perspectives of multiple subjects in order to transfer new knowledge and deeper understanding to real life experiences. At Stonehill learning is not confined by traditional subjects but is supported and enriched by them. Why 'All Mixed Up'? Transdisciplinary learning is certainly mixing up the disciplines and how we shift from thinking about each subject area in isolation. The main purpose of transdisciplinary learning is to understand the world around us, and that learning should be contextualised in and applied to real life, far beyond the traditional notion of "school". Primary Student Voice We are proud to introduce daily "Getting Together" sessions which is an initiative of our Primary Student Voice. In this short two minute video, the learners explain WHAT these sessions are, WHY we need them and some tips on HOW 'Getting Together' works. Zita Joyce PYP Coordinator |
