Transdisciplinary Programme of Inquiry
The Primary Years Programme at Stonehill is a transdisciplinary curriculum framework that offers authentic learning experiences. We encourage learners to appreciate knowledge, conceptual understandings, skills and personal attributes as a connected whole. Stonehill’s Primary teaching team has collaboratively developed a Programme of Inquiry which reflects the unique aspects of our school’s community. Our programme of inquiry is organized and framed by six transdisciplinary themes. These transdisciplinary themes together provide children with authentic learning experiences that are not confined to the boundaries of traditional subjects. Although subjects play an important role in learning, our PYP learners explore real-world problems by going beyond subject boundaries. The students have opportunities to reflect on the significance of their learning to take meaningful action in their community and the wider world.
Overview of the current Stonehill Programme of Inquiry . The overview can be found and accessed any time on Stonehill's Primary Curriculum Site. With our commitment to the school’s strategic plan, I would like to share this vibrant video which highlights our dedication to personalised learning, collaborative learning community, Flexible, culturally responsive and innovative learners and wellbeing.
