The boarding houses have been quiet for over forty five days now. We are missing the sounds of laughter, morning greetings, breakfast chatter, music blaring from the fitness centre and constant thud of the football in the corridor. We miss our boarding family a lot! I think the sense of family is so strong that we have supported each other and continued to stay connected during the lockdown, finding resilience and a new found gratitude along the way.
The virtual graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 was held on 22nd May. It was not the way any of us would have wanted to celebrate but all the same it was wonderful. Wishing all our graduates the very best in their journey ahead! Keep in touch and visit Stonehill when you can. It is wonderful to see mango, pomegranate, papaya and guava trees bearing fruit behind the boarding house. The Garden Club is missing out on harvesting the fruits and distributing it amongst our community. I would also like to say a big thank you to Tanya, Class of 2021 for designing the boarding T-shirts for the next academic year. Please remain vigilant even though there has been a sustained fall in Covid infection rates since April. Stay safe, Glen Johnson Head of Boarding |
