The new fourteen member LDM Executive Council, 2021-22 met yesterday. This year, they are planning many new activities for students. The LDM website will launch next week with details on how students can join these clubs or create their own clubs.
Congratulations to the following members of the LDM Executive Council, 2021-22: Skye (D2), Arzoo (D2), Rohan (D2), Yashasvi (D2), Shreyes (D2), Anit (D2), Anushka (D2), Kshama (D1), Wonjun (D1), Malina (D1), Saher (M5), Vanessa (M5), Nivedita (M5) and Nakul (M4). Global Interscholastic Association (GIA) Stonehill is one of five founding schools in a global platform for students to connect, collaborate, and compete with other students from around the world. The five schools driving this initiative are The Columbus School in Colombia, The American School of Paris, The International School of Brussels, the American International School Vienna, and Stonehill International School. This platform will open doors from across the world for our students to participate in events such as competitions, festivals, expositions, and virtual clubs.
On Wednesday, Stonehill Activities Coordinator, John Bertken who initiated the idea of the global platform, presented the GIA platform at Globetrottin AD's Activities meeting involving over 25 schools from around the world. The Global Interscholastic Association will launch in September with Stonehill offering a PYP Poetry Cafe as one of the initial events being promoted. Sports While the first season of sport has been canceled for the two conferences in which Stonehill participates in (BAASC and ISACI), we are hoping that the situation continues to improve and we can resume all sporting activities in the second season. Stonehill is the acting commissioner of the BAASC and is working with the other schools in Bangalore to identify potential sports that would be considered safe to compete. As it looks now, both at the middle school and high school levels, season 2 sports would include Track and Field, Tennis, and Badminton. If things continue to improve, the Season 3 sports would include 3v3 Basketball and 5v5 Football for both genders. John Bertken Whole School Sports and Activities Coordinator |
