It has been a year of Distance Learning since we closed our campus on March 9th, 2020. Many of our younger learners are ready to come back to school. We are prepared to receive them once we are given the Government's go-ahead to reopen school for the younger grades. Unfortunately, this last week, positive cases have been on the rise. We continue to closely monitor the number of active cases in Karnataka. This will give us a clearer indication whether we will be allowed to reopen school for the other grades.
I want to thank our PYP students' families who supported our learners with our Virtual Sports Day on the 5th of March. Activities such as these increase our students’ awareness of the value of sporting activities and well-being, particularly during a pandemic, and is always a valuable life skill. It was a fantastic way to increase activity and celebrate our entire PYP community. A special thank you to the whole PYP Sports Department as well as the Whole School Sports Department, Homeroom Teachers, Parents, Learners, and our new Tiger Mascot for a splendid day.
Over the last year, being online with our Remote and Distance Learning, has made regular tasks and procedures somewhat challenging. For example, In the past, our students met face-to-face with college admissions representatives to learn more about universities, courses and careers to determine their college applications. Last March, school visitations came to a halt and many universities began conducting webinars instead. Our career and guidance counselor, Ms. Praseeja stated that our students have not missed a beat in the application process and are upto date on information about programs, location, scholarships, and career opportunities. The D2 students have already received some outstanding offers from leading universities. You can take a look here or click on the picture below to view some of the university acceptances. We are very proud of our D2 students and their continued achievement and perseverance. We will be launching the new Stonehill website in late May or early June. We know from the early stages of development that our new website's design will be attractive, easier to navigate with easy access points to important information about our school’s programs and community. Please note that Friday, 19th of March is a school holiday as it is Professional Development Day for faculty and staff. Have a safe weekend ahead. Dr. Brian Brumsickle Head of School |
